Coaster Galore:

Now that you know how to design your own mugs, why not a homemade coaster set as well for a great gift combo. The following DIY project takes between half an hour to an hour, depending on how many coasters you make.

Supplies:
-Square tiles
-Scrap booking paper of your design choice!
-Sponge brush
-Ruler
-Cutting board
-Scissors or craft knife
-Mod Podge
-Coaster bottoms
-Acrylic sealer  (not pictured)

Steps:

1. Work the measurements for your paper size on your coaster and cut out a template square

2. Using your template square cut out as many paper pieces from your paper choice

3. Coat your tiles with a layer of mod podge and immediately place the paper square on top of the tile.

4. Allow for the bottom layer of glue to dry and the paper to stick. Then put 2-3 coats of mod podge over top the tile and Paper Square allowing the glue to dry between each coat. {The glue is very fast drying so it will only be a few minutes between each}

5. When your coats of mod podge are done and dried, spray the coaster with an acrylic sealer.

6. After spraying the coaster, stick the coaster bottoms under the coaster.
 It’s just that simple.

Mug Décor:

Everyone knows that coffee mugs make fabulous gifts but why not add a personal touch to it and decorate them your selves! The following DIY project takes only about half an hour or less:

Supplies:
-Design template*
-Masking tape
-Sharpie
-Acrylic Paint Marker
-Plain Mug
-Acrylic Sealer  [not pictured]

*The mug I made, which is pictured above, was for my brother, so I decided to draw a mustache design upon it. I found an image I liked just by using Google images and cutting out the shape. So if you are making your own template you will need access to paper, scissors or a craft knife and a printer, unless you are artistic and can draw your designs!

Steps:

1. Find and prepare your design outline and tape it to your mug

2. Outline and colour it in with sharpie. Let sit for a few minutes

3. Go over the sharpie design in the acrylic paint marker. Let that dry for a few minutes.

4. Spray with acrylic sealer and finis!
