Style Journal: London Calling

For some reason I love dressing for rainy grey days. Soooo here is my rainy monday/school look

Blazer: Gabriel Brothers
Sweater: Van Heusen Outlet
Grey Hoodie: Sports store
Skinnies: Kohls
Black tie ups: Thrifted
Ciao Bella Bag: Souvenir from the Florence Leather Market
Headphones: Beats by Dr. Dre

Headphones are a hot trend this spring and if your a music lover, it's definitely worth the investment. Top designer fashion stores such as Colette in Paris, I.T. in Hong Kong, and Isetan in Tokyo have started selling high-end stereo headphones alongside designer clothes and jewelry. They have come to be seen as an extension of peoples' personalities, aka an accessorie.

Typography Art Poster

Now, I don't know about everyone else, but I have been noticing all these really neat and creative typography posters/art works. So I decided to try something of my own. I found a photo on Pinterest that I really liked, and mimicked it, so it is not an original idea. :)
Here is my result:

Supplies:

Water Colours
Water
Sharpies [fine point and medium tip]
Pencil
Q-tips
Cotton ball
Soaked tea bag
Drawing paper
Hi-Polymer Eraser

1. With your soaked tea bag, stain your paper to achieve a vintage/old school effect

2. After the paper has dried, either by waiting or blowing drying it, sketch out your design

3. Fill in your pencil markings with sharpie and decorate your paper with your taste of colours/pattern/anything really. I took cotton ball, and sponged a cloud like image around my words. I also drew a photo of a bike and traced it in with my desired colour using a Q-tip.

And that is about it. Each piece of course would be different, but here is one example. These would make great gifts too instead of buying them off etsy for 10 or more!

C'est la vie, c'est la mort

Swan dive down eleven stories high
Hold your breath until you see the light
You can sink to the bottom of the sea Just don't go without me

Go get lost where no one can be found
Drink so long and deep until you drown
Say your goodbyes, but darlin' if you please,
Don't go without me.
C'est la vie, c'est la mort. (It is life, it is death.)
You and me, Forevermore.
Let's walk down the road that has no end.
Steal away where only angels tread.
Heaven or hell or somewhere in between
Cross your heart to take me when you leave.
Don't go... Please don't go. Don't go without me.<3

DIY: Headband Holder

Headbands are super cute! But sometimes hard to store.
For headbands that are firm, [not the stretch ones] a convenient/cost effective way of storing them is by using either fancy plant pots, nifty candle holders, or vases.

I found my candle holder for only a few dollars at Tj Max. Thrift stores are also great and Target has some trendy options as well. It's a great cheap way to organize your accessories :)

Using a holder of sorts is great for 2 main reasons:

1. Keeps the headbands shape; Your headbands don't get crushed in your drawers, especially if they have nice details on them

2. Easily visible! and you are more likely to use something when it is in plain sight.

Providing a jolt of energy, Solar Power radiates warmth and cheer.

Fanciful Bellflower, a distinct ornamental purple, exudes uniqueness and creativity.

Scintillating and sexy, Cabaret is a sensual and intense rosy-red — an excellent
choice for summer clothing and cosmetics. [And my personal favorite!]

Sodalite Blue, a classic maritime hue, brings order and calmness to mind. Like an
anchor to a ship, this dependable shade works with every color in the palette.

Cockatoo, a tactile blue-green, is sure to make your spirits soar. This unusual hue
adds a whimsical touch to the palette and will surely make a statement this spring.

Margarita, a piquant yellow-green, lifts spirits with its refreshing and stimulating glow.

Reminiscent of a blossoming garden on an early spring morning, fragrant Sweet Lilac evokes the fresh scents of summer. This delicate pinkish lilac adds a touch of romance
to any wardrobe.

Natural versatile neutrals add practicality to this season's brights:

Driftwood, an adaptable blend of beige and gray with a slightly weathered feel.

Starfish, a perfect warm summer neutral, complement all colors featured in this season's top 10.

Pantone is my favorite. I love their colours and love their seasonal releases. I highly recommend checking out Pantone's site for more details and a downloadable pdf on the spring colour report!
