England Touring

Flying Right

1. Hydrate

Humidity levels when flying are terribly low, which is often why your skin feels dry and or tight. The best way to 'counter the lack of moisture in the air, is to drink lots and lots of water'. This will help you to feel refreshed and not so parched.

2. Moisturize

Before plane flying,  'lather up with lotion and lip balm'. Great basics as the travel size baby lotion and Vaseline are perfect for your carry ons.

3. Lock Up

'The low humidity in cabin pressures also can have a tendency to take the volume of your hair out', leaving it more limp and dry. To help prevent this, put your hair in a pony or bun at the 'top of your head'. This not only keeps hair out of your face, but 'lifts your locks at the roots keeping the moisture in longer'.

4. Layers and scarves

These are your best friends on planes. Some planes are extremely cold, others comfortable, and occasionally you’ll find a over warm plane. Having 3-2  layers on can prepare you to adjust to any temperature and a larger scarf is great to use as a blanket of type  if you are on a shorter flight that doesn’t offer blankets to their guests.

Packing 101: The Basics

There are some pieces of clothing that you just can't go wrong with packing as they may be basic, classy, or just a smart packing choices. Here is a list of pieces I never leave home without!

The Power of Jean
jeans, over sized sweater, boots, and purse. simple and chic.
There is a reason that the jean pant has become a fundamental in American style, that being it is completely versatile. Dress it up, dress it down, and it goes with any colour scheme. Always bring a jean pant whether it is a coloured jean, white jean, classic jean, it is an always reliable packing piece.

Wear it twice
Pack shirts that can be worn with two skirts or pants and vice versa. Why? By doing this you allow yourself creativity to have multiple outfits from a small amount of pieces, giving you more flexibility when getting dressed that day!

Perfectly Chic
Sun dresses, maxi dresses, a shift dress, the list goes on; dresses are an endlessly chic way of traveling and touring. They also provide an entire outfit in just one space verses a pant and top or skirt and top. Certain style of dresses can also be layered over top of with a top and belted. So you can utilize a dress as a skirt. It’s best to have as many outfits in as few pieces of clothing as possible without opening your suitcase and feeling limited. [Maxi dresses are great traveling pieces as they are often comfy and can been worn casual but still chic or they can be dressed up. Great for a nice dinner out or evening on the boardwalk.]

simple dresses.

Cardis and Scarves and Leggings
1-2 cardigans that can go with the majority of your outfits is also an effective wardrobe move as it cuts done space but also assures you have a sweater if the weather cools, the evenings out are cool, you happen to sit right under an air vent in a restaurant, etc.
Scarves. Those are a must for any trip I take. Silk scarves are also great accessories round your neck or in your hair.
Leggings and/or tights are comfortable, light weight, and can easily add coverage to any skirt or dress.

Simply Effortless
versatile top with statement skirt.
Both great for pairing with multiple colours
Skirts are a fabulous thing to pack, they often go with several tops, are dressy casual, and completely comfortable, unless it is highly windy where you are traveling. Skirts and dresses often take up the bulk of clothing of which I pack as they don't take nearly as much room up as pants.

In short, pieces, that can be worn in multiple ways and with multiple things, are your smartest packing moves. To be able to do this however, a basic colour scheme is fundamental. This don’t wrinkle also would make that list.

Packing a Working Wardrobe

When ever you travel, you are always limiting your ability of access to what you normally have.
Thus learning to pack a cohesive suitcase is highly important to your overall enjoyment of your trip. So I hope to give you new ideas or tips on how to pack a working wardrobe most effectively from what I've learned.

To build your suitcase, chose one or two neutral colours [black, navy, brown, white, tan, grey] and one/two accent colours. If both your accent colour and neutral colours work with the other wardrobe pieces you pack, it ensures that you will have a colour flowing suitcase.

In the photo below, my colour scheme I chose was Brown with White. My trip was to my grandparents and then to the beach for about a week and a half.  Since I had extra room in my suitcase I threw in an extra pair of shoes. hehe. I normally don't pack so many as four!!

In the photo below as well, notice how I have two of my basic accessories that I could wear with that specific outfit. I ended up wearing the tan sling back sandals and tan belt however. All four shoes and both necklaces could have been worn with that outfit, which is your aim! Also, blue/nautical colours were my accents [red/blue/and i included white as both an accent and neutral]

By having a colour scheme, this allows you to pack fewer shoes and jewelry/accessories that will work with all your pieces!
